The 2024 National Women’s Football Clubs Championship 2nd round saw two fixtures on its second day at the Jinnah Sports Complex.
Home side Legacy WFC gave no respite to Karachi’s Diya WFC as they ran 11-0 winners in a lopsided contest in Group B. Kainat and Eman each scored three goals, while Malika, Roshnan, Alina, Nazalia and Karishma each also netted a goal.
The win gives Legacy top spot in the group due to better goal difference ahead of favourites Karachi City WFC who had beaten Lahore’s TWK 6-0 the day before.
In Group A, another Islamabad team Highlanders FC were held to a cagey 1-1 draw by Karachi’s JAFA women’s team. Nazima scored for JAFA, while Khatoon equalized for Highlanders
Karachi United remain on top of Group A after their 4-0 win over Hazara Quetta the day before.
Tomorrow on Day three, 4 August, two more matches take place. In Group B, TWK take on Diya at 5pm while in Group A, JAFA face Hazara Quetta also at 5pm.
