Islamabad, 9 August 2024:
Home side Legacy WFC will face Karachi City in the final of the 2024 National Women’s Football Club Championship on Saturday, 10 August at Jinnah Stadium Islamabad.
Both tournament favourites eased past their respective opponents in the semifinals yesterday, 8 August at the capital’s large arena. Both semifinals were broadcast on Geo Super and on the PFF’s official youtube.
In an earlier kickoff, Legacy made short work of Karachi United 6-0. Eman Mustafa was on hand to score 4 past a struggling KU defence to stake her claim for a potential Pakistan WNT call-up in the near future.
Pakistan WNT’s Kayanat Bokhari also bagged two goals of her own in the win, with the Dutch-Pakistani pulling the strings in midfield for Legacy.
The second semi-final had a similar story Karachi City overwhelmed Hazara Quetta WFC 8-0. The Balochistan side struggled to keep Karachi City’s attacks at bay as the likes of captain Suha Hirani, Zahmena Malik and other Pakistan WNT stars created and scored all kinds of chances.
Suha and Zahmena both scored twice, while Zulfia Nazir, Sanah, Aliza Sabir, and Nadia Khan both scored once each for Karachi City.
The final will be at 8:30pm PST from Jinnah Stadium Islamabad, with both Legacy and Karachi City looking for the NWFC title. Both teams will have be playing their 5th game in 9 days.
The winner will also get a voting right in the upcoming PFF elections as a member of the PFF Congress.
