Islamabad: The National Women’s Football Club Championship 2024 final group stage concluded today with two thrilling matches at the Jinnah Sports Complex, Islamabad. Legacy FC and Hazara Quetta WFC emerged victorious, securing their places in the tournament’s semi-finals.
Legacy FC earned their semifinal slot with a 3-0 victory over TWK. Eman, Kayanat, and Alina each scored a goal for Legacy to end TWK’s campaign in Group B. The result means Legacy finished group runners-up behind leaders Karachi City with 2 wins from 3 games. TWK finished 3rd with 3 points while Diya finished 4th with 0 points.
In the last match of the final stage, Hazara Quetta FC faced off against Highlanders FC in a closely contested battle in Group A. Hazara Quetta emerged victorious with a narrow 2-1 win thanks to a goal each from Farishta and Sadiqa. Susan gave the sole reply for Highlanders.
The result means Hazara Quetta also finished group runners-up behind leaders Karachi United with 2 wins from 3 games. Highlanders finished 3rd with 1 point while JAFA finished 4th also with 1 point.
Karachi United will face Legacy FC in the first semi-final of the National Women’s Football Club Championship 2024 on August 8 at 5:30 PM at Jinnah Football Stadium, Islamabad followed by the second semi-final between Karachi City FC and Hazara Quetta WFC at 8:30 PM.
