5 August 2024: The 2024 National Women’s Football Club Championship saw its first two confirmed semifinalist teams after today’s results at Jinnah Sports Complex in Islamabad.
Both Karachi clubs, Karachi United and Karachi City, won their respective 2nd round group games to reach the NWFC semifinals.
In Group A, Karachi United overcame Islamabad’s Highlanders FC with a 2-0 scoreline. Sara Abdul Majeed opened the scoring after just 4 minutes for KU before Amara Khan scored a late one in 88th minute to seal a deserving win.
In Group B, Karachi City had to overcome a stiff challenge from Legacy WFC with a 3-0 win. A brace from Nadia Khan and a goal from team captain Suha Hirani were the deciding factor for KCFC against Legacy.
