Lahore, 22 April: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)’s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat has approved 42 players in the build up for Tariq Lutfi-coached Pakistan National Football team for appearance in 20th World Cup Qualifier and two-match return leg of Palestine.
Nabil Aslam, a Danish footballer of Pakistani descent who plays for Alliance Club Horsens in the Danish Superliga, is among the 42 probables, and it will be first call to Nabeel for PFF Camp. Other overseas players Atif Bashir Qureshi, Zeeshan Rehman, Adnan Farooq Ahmed and Hassan Bashir are also called for World Cup matches against Bangladesh – two legged encounters on 29 June and 3 July 2011. Earlier Pakistan will play two matches of bilateral series against Palestine at Faisal Al-Husseini International Stadium, Al-Ram near Ramallah on 24 and 27 May 2011.
“We won the Danish 1st Division 2009-10, governed by the Danish Football Association with runner-up being Lyngby BK and promoted to the tough Danish Superliga 2010-1 which will conclude on 29 May 2011 ,” said Nabil who was born at Kongens Lyngby, Denmark on 3 August 1984 and played 44 matches for AC Horsens since 2008.
Also joining the squad will be striker Hassan Bashir of Hellerup IK, a club based in Danish 2nd Division.
