LAHORE – Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) President Syed Mohsen Gilani met with the national football team at the conclusion of their training camp in Islamabad ahead of their departure for Myanmar.
During the interaction, the newly elected PFF chief also held important discussions with players and coaching staff regarding the team’s ongoing training and preparations.
The national team recently wrapped up a focused training camp held under the supervision of head coach Stephen Constantine in Islamabad. The camp, which lasted several days, was aimed at fine-tuning the squad’s fitness, tactical awareness, and coordination ahead of their critical international fixture.
Pakistan’s men’s national football team is set to depart for Myanmar tonight (June 7) via a private airline. The squad will travel through Bangkok before reaching Yangon, where they will face the Myanmar national team on June 10.
Although it is technically a “home” fixture for Pakistan, the match will be played in Yangon due to logistical and organisational considerations. The match will take place at the Thuwunna Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 PM Pakistan Standard Time (PST).
The upcoming clash is part of Group E in the second round of qualification, which also features Syria, Afghanistan, and Myanmar. Pakistan will be looking to make a strong statement as they continue to build under Constantine’s leadership and the renewed administrative setup of the PFF.
