LAHORE: In a significant milestone for the country’s football infrastructure, the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) officially launched its D license coaching course here on Wednesday.
The five-day programme has drawn 36 participating coaches from all corners of Pakistan, aiming to modernise coaching standards at the grassroots level. The commencement of this course marks a historic moment for local sports development, as it is the first time in more than ten years that Lahore has hosted a PFF D license coaching course. The programme is scheduled to run through July 12, 2026.
The introductory session was attended by key regional football stakeholders. District Football Association (DFA) Lahore President Zia Arif Dogar, Secretary Abdul Nadeem, Treasurer Chaudhry Azhar, and PFF Senior Coach Sajjad Mahmood were all present to welcome the new cohort of trainees.
Speaking at the inauguration, DFA Lahore President Zia Arif Dogar emphasised the critical nature of continuous coach education for the sport’s long-term survival and growth in Pakistan.
The initiative has received strong backing from the top tier of national football governance. PFF President Mohsen Gilani and Chief Operating Officer Shahid Khokhar both issued statements welcoming the rollout of the programme. The intensive curriculum is being led by seasoned instructors Akhtar Mohiuddin and Muhammad Habib, with Bilal Khan managing operations as the course coordinator
