The promising Sydney-based winger Ahmed Akber Khan has been selected in the Pakistan National Team and we will probably see him playing some part in Wednesday’s game at Dhaka. Playing at left-mid during the camp, he impressed the Head coach Tariq lutfi. He met the Pakistani coach at Singapore airport where he got chance to talk with Head coach and later on got a call up to Pakistan team camp for the Palestine games. He played a good half of football in the Lahore game against the middle-east side.
So far, so good, he has gelled with the national team and has been training for more then a month now in Lahore and Islamabad where he got chance to play against local teams and departmental teams like, MTFA(9-0), IFT(6-0), Islamabad 11(5-0) KRL(2,0-2,0) and few other matches where he showed his class and skills, earning a call up to fly off with national team on 25th June to Dhaka.
We got a chance to talk with Ahmed and found him really happy at his inclusion. He was positive and hoped that this team has the potential to show its strength and get victory in the first round. He said that the team is united and struggling hard for victory. He praised Aslam Khan’s work with Jaffar Khan and said the keepers were in good shape. He also praised the strike partnership of Rasool and Arif.
He further said that he was very impressed by the quality and professionalism of Adnan Ahmed and Atif Bashir, their inclusions he said has made the team stronger, he was impressed by them said that they have got a huge experience in the international arena which will be really beneficial.
He said the weather is hot and humid in Bangladesh that may make it tough. But the boys are putting their all and getting the momentum to get their peak. He hopes to get a chance during both games to impress and help Pakistan towards the win.
