The Tharolane Ground in Garden West, Karachi saw 5 matches being decided in the 6th All-Sindh Balochistan Ada Sher Muhammad Memorial Football Tournament. FC Rovers (Malir), Chanesar Mohammadan, Khaleeq Memorial, Baloch Union West, and Bhavan Shah (Malir) beat Fishermen Lyari, Pirabad Golden, Balochistan Reds, Baloch FC Gadani, and Malik Star respectively to go through the next round.
The FC Rovers vs Fishermen Lyari game was witneesed by Mushtaq Ahmed (ADO Revenue, CDGK) as chief guest. He promised tournament hosts Pak Baloch FC of giving support to renovate their Pak Baloch Ground and praised the organisation of the tournament so far. Also present were Riaz Ahmed, ex-internationals Majeed Laasi, Farid Majeed, Zafar Majeed, Nawaz Laasi, Ayub Baloch, organising secretary Maula Bakhsh Baloch, ex-member Central Zone Abdul Karim et al.
Goals from Sikander Butt and Arieb Zaidi helped FC Rovers lead 2-0 at half time, but Fishermen Lyari fought back hard as Sadiq and Aamir equalised in second half, taking the game to penalties. FC Rovers held their nerve and prevailed 5-4 in the shoot out. Other matches saw Chanesar Mohammadan beat Pirabad Golden 1-0 thanks to Adnan’s goal, Khaleeq Memorial (Zone Central) beat Balochistan Reds (Zone West) 3-1 with goals from Kamran, Nazir, and Sajid while Aurangzeb scored for losing side. Baloch Union (West) beat Baloch FC Gadani 8-7 on penalties after a 0-0 score at end of normal time. Finally, Bhavan Shah FC (Malir) beat Malik Star (West) 1-0 thanks to Jahanzeb’s goal. Referees were M. Rizwan, M. Anwar, Hafeez Ahmed, Imam Bakhsh, Dilmurad, Imran, and Mansoor, while commissioner was Ustad Nabeel.
On thursday, 26 May 2011, Sajidi Baloch face Babar Memorial while on Friday, Karachi Mohammadan (Lyari) face Young Green (Central).
New Paradise FC (Hyderabad) was recently invited to play a friendly game in Nawabshah by Jhoolay Lal FC. The Hyderabad-based side beat the Nawabshah hosts 1-0 at Habib Sugar Mills Ground, Nawabshah thanks to a goal from New Paradise captain Arif Baloch. The match saw New Paradise players Saeed Ahmed Mughal, Ghulam Abbas, and Dilawar Khan dominate the host team with great skill and composure.
Hosted by Azad Shaheen FC (Zone West), the All-Karachi Hakeem Khan Mandokhel Football Tournament saw the Fazal Memorial vs Young Noorani (Baldia Town) game descend into chaos as Fazal Memorial’s Hayat Khan exchanged harsh words and scuffled with referee Adnan Khan over a controversial call made by the referee. Both the player and referee had to be taken away by the players and match officials to stop the fight.
This shameful incident forced Zone West FA secretary Rahim Bakhsh to take disciplinary action against both the player Hayat Khan and referee Adnan Khan. Hayat Khan was given a 3 month suspension while Adnan Khan given a 1 month suspension with both being forbidden to taking part in any football activities during the tenure of their respective bans.
The suspension decision by Zone West FA has been passed on to all Zonal FA offices across Karachi District for immediate implementation.
