The Senior Vice-Chairman of Zonal West FA Karachi West, Syed Liaquat Shah, was killed in a tragic road accident whilst enroute to the city of Winder in Balochistan. 35-year old Syed Liaquat Shah had been nominated to run for his post in Zonal West FA in the upcoming nationwide football elections for a third time. His passion for football made him win many friends across Karachi and interior Sindh.
Syed Liaquat Shah began his playing career with National Afridi FC of Baldia Town and remained associated with the team where he later became secretary till his passing away aged just 35. The deceased left behind a widow, four sons, a daughter as well as 6 brothers and 6 sisters as mourners. The funeral prayers of the deceased were held at the Young Noorani Football Ground in Baldia Town where thousands paid their last respects, before being buried in the local cemetary.
Syed Liaquat Shah’s family members, relatives, friends, associates, as well as members from all five Karachi Zonal FAs and various football clubs attended the funeral. Among the attendees were Abdul Malik Khan, Eng. Ibrahim Baloch, Zafar Baloch, Fateh Muhammad Baloch, Mastan Abbasi, Rahim Bakhsh, Syed Usman Shah, Asif Zaheer, Murad Bakhsh, Jan Muhammad, Dr Abdul Hameed, sports journalist Riaz Ahmed, Chaudhary Israr, Abdul Karim, Muhammad Azhar, Khalid Majeed, Saleem Patni, Muhammad Shamim, Iqbal Minhas, Saleem Baloch, Sameen Khan, National Afridi coach Babar Khan, captain Sarzameen Khan, Ustad Tufail Niazi, Master Riasat etc.
