Islamabad’s Ravi thrash AJK’s Star 4-1 in PFF League openor

Lahore, 23 November:

Islamabad’s Ravi FC earned full three points when they snatched 4-1 win  over Azad Jammu Kashmir’s Star FC in  Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) League 2010 (Region Phase) at Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad today.

Striker Muhammad Rahil opened the scoring for winners in the 16th minute while winger Enika struck twice in the 69th, 83rd minute. Other goal getter was midfielder Muhammad Asif (32 min). Star FC pulled one back in the 20th minute through spearhead Faisal Kabir. The winner of Region Phase will face Al Hilal FC, Pakpattan on 29 Nov and Afghan Sports on 1 Dec at Arifwala in Round One- Group-B.

The Champions of departmental and club event will earn slot in 2011’s Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL), replacing two relegated team who finished 15th and 16th berth in PPFL 2010. The Winner of Department Leg will face Winner of Club Leg on 20 December 2010 Monday at 2.30 PM to decide overall champion.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Zaman has been appointed Match Commissioner for Region Phase and FIFA Referee Shafaat Habib will look after the competition alongwith National Referees Khuram Shahzad, M. Ibrahim, Amir Iqbal, Chaman Khan,

Mohammad Sharif, Arsalan Sharif, Touqeer Aslam. Six local Referees will be available for back up support viz M. Waqas, M. Aslam, Kashif Ali, M. Umair, Zakir Hussain and Mohammad Tariq.
