Karachi Football League 2010-11: Mauripur Baloch & Sindh Balochistan win their games

The 8th Karachi Football League 2010-11, organised by Karachi United FC, saw two more group stage games be decided as it entered its second day at Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi. According to tournament organising secretary Riaz Ahmed, Mauripur Baloch beat National Afridi (Baldia Town) 4-2 thanks to 4 goals from right winger Sajjad Kaka while former international Lal Muhammad inspired Sindh Balochistan (Gulshan-e-Iqbal) to beat Salaar Welfare Centre (Malir) 4-1 in their respective Group-B clashes.

Man of the match Sajjad Kaka scored the first hat-trick of the tournament as he helped Zone West’s Mauripur Baloch overcome National Afridi 4-2. Usman Ali and Sarzameen Khan scored for the losing side. After a 0-0 half time score, the second half saw a total of 6 goals being scored with young star Sajjad Kaka leading the onslaught as he scored four times, including a 20-yard freekick.

In the second game, man of the match Lal Muhammad’s 5th minute goal led the charge as Sindh Balochistan beat Salaar Welfare Cente 4-1. Nadeem Baloch and Muhammad Ehsan scored for the winners while Waseem Irani made it 3-1 before half time. In second half, Muhammad Raheel scored as well to make it 4-1 for Sindh Balochistan.

Referees were Ibrar Hussain, Babar Khan, Farrukh Riaz and Chaudhary Sarfraz while match commissioners were Abdul Karim (Member, Central Zone) and journalist Saleem Arif. Monday’s clash will see Al-Shahbaz (Korangi) face Gulshan Ittehad (Korangi) while FC Rovers face tournament hosts Baloch Mujahid.
