The Pakistan Men’s National Football Team will take part in the Diamond Jubilee International Football Tournament in Maldives from 1-10 June 2026.
The tournament during the June FIFA International Window features hosts Maldives, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Draws for fixtures were decided yesterday, 24 May, by the Football Association of Maldives (FAM).
Teams play each other once, with the top two teams from the group stage playing the final on 10 June. All matches will be played at the National Football Stadium in the Maldivian capital of Malé.
Pakistan will play fellow South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) member Bangladesh on 1 June at 1600 PKT to kick off the tournament celebrating Maldives’ diamond jubilee independence. Pakistan then faces the hosts on 4 June also at 1600 PKT, followed by a clash against Afghanistan on 7 June also at 1600 PKT.
The Pakistan squad is currently at its training camp at the Jinnah Sports Complex in Islamabad under head coach Nolberto Solano. The team is expected to finalize its traveling squad to Maldives in a few days with a strong squad expected to compete.
This will be Pakistan MNT’s first friendly tournament in 3 years since the Mauritius Four Nations Cup also in June 2023 where Pakistan faced African sides Mauritius, Kenya and Djibouti.
Coach Solano has aimed to use the Maldives tournament to prepare Pakistan for the SAFF Championship this year. The MNT still awaits a first ever win since beating Cambodia 1-0 on 17 October 2023 at Jinnah Stadium Islamabad in the first round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers.
