Nepal humble Pakistan women in SAFF Futsal

Bangkok, Thailand: Pakistan women’s futsal team suffered a successive loss in the 2026 SAFF Futsal Championship. Less than 2 days after losing a dramatic game to India 5-3, this time it was Nepal who comfortably won 5-1 at the Nonthaburi Stadium.

Pakistan found themselves 3-0 down at half time after Nepal exploited a series of defensive lapses to score thrice past Pakistan goalkeeper Zeeyana Jivraj. Manisha Thapa Magar scored a brace before Roshani Bohara Chettri also got on the scoresheet.

Pakistan tried to raise the tempo for a comeback when Azwa Chaudhry pulled one back in 2nd period. However attempts to further reduce the deficit were met with frustration as Nepal defence and goalkeeper dealt with the pressure.

Nepal would punish Pakistan in the final minutes on the counter to make it 5-1 at the end of the game. Goals from Dipa Rai and Jennifer Rana adding to Pakistan’s misery in a one-sided scoreline.

The result leaves Pakistan women’s team campaign for a podium finish in jeopardy, after Bangladesh smashed 6-3 Sri Lanka to maintain top spot while Bhutan beat Maldives 4-2. Pakistan now face Bangladesh in their final women’s futsal fixture on 23rd January at 12:00pm PKT.
