LAHORE: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Normalisation Committee has approached the Prime Minister House to seek support in managing a chartered flight to carry Pakistan team to Dushanbe for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers game against Tajikistan on June 11.
Pakistan team, which was scheduled to fly out of Faisalabad via Fly Dubai on Friday, failed to proceed as the flight was cancelled after it was delayed twice.
The PFF NC then approached PIA for a chartered flight but according to sources the federation was told that all jets had already been booked.
NC approached another airline but according to sources no breakthrough was made. There is no direct flight to Dushanbe from Pakistan.
Tajikistan football team came to Pakistan last November via a chartered flight.
The PFF NC spokesman said that NC has approached PM House for support in order to ensure Pakistan complete their Group G second round matches by playing its final game against Tajikistan.
Tajikistan defeated Pakistan 6-1 in their first leg in Islamabad last November.
According to sources eight members of the team had flown to Tajikistan on Friday while four more players proceeded to Dushanbe on Sunday as per their schedule.
Sources said that all diaspora players and one local player have now reached Dushanbe along with the coaching staff. Pakistan have lost all their five games in Group G second round so far with heavy margin.
