Karachi, April 18: Mohammad Awais fired two goals and helped his team Hilal Foods thrash Wonder Works by 2-0 score in Leisure Leagues Seven-a-side Corporate League here at Karachi United Football Stadium.
A total of eight teams, namely Daraz Group, Wonder Works, Hyundai, Coca Cola, Karachi United Football Foundation (KUFF), PSO, Leisure Leagues and Hilal Foods are participating in the tournament.
The final round of the leagues matches will be played on coming Saturday and the semifinals and the summit clash will be held the next day on Sunday (April 22).
The tournament has been played on single league basis – each team playing a match against one another. Each team will play a total of seven matches and the top four teams will qualify for semifinals. A total of 31 matches will be played.
Meanwhile, PSO received a walkover against Wonder Works after the side didn’t show up at the time of the scheduled match.
Coke football team thrashed Hilal Foods 3-0 after Kamran scored two goals and Fahad scored one for the winners in the match.
The match between Hyundai and Coke ended in a 1-1 draw with Hafeez scoring for Hyundai and Umer Mirza scoring for Coke. The match between Wonder Works and Daraz football team ended in a goalless draw.
The match between PSO and Hyundai also ended in a tie after both teams scored one goal each. Zark scored for PSO while Abdullah scored for Hyundai in the match.
Daraz and Coke match also ended in a 1-1 draw. Hamza scored for Coke and Mehar scored for Daraz team.
However, in their match against PSO, Daraz played brilliantly winning the match 4-1 – thanks to Hamza, who scored two goals, and Waheed and Imtiaz, who contributed one goal each. Zark scored a consolatory goal for PSO.
The biggest victory was recorded by host Leisure Leagues team, who thrashed Coke by 5-0 score. Orangzaib braced for the side while Sameer, Rashid and Ayaz scored one goal each.
Leisure Leagues recorded another big win against when they defeated PSO by PSO by 4-0 score. Ayaz scored a brilliant hat-trick while Mehar scored the fourth goal.
But in Karachi United team, Leisure Leagues found their match and conceded a 1-2 defeat. Noor and Yousaf scored one goal each for home team while Orangzaib scored a consolatory goal for the tournament hosts.
Karachi United team also defeated Daraz by 2-1 with Faisal and Noor scoring one goal apiece for the winning side. Huzaifa scored one for Daraz.
The tournament was initially planned to be held at Olympian Iftikhar Syed Sports Academy (OISSA) but after first round of matches, the tournament was moved to Karachi United Football Stadium due to unavoidable reasons.
