Pakistan National Football Team Visiting India to Play Two International Friendly Matches on August 17 and August 20, 2014 at Bangalore:-
Pakistan National Football Team is all set to leave for India to Play two International Friendly match series with India National Football Team on August 17 & August 20 at Banglore. In this regard a press briefing was held at PFF Secretariat, FIFA Football House Lahore at 4.00 Pm.
Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat President of PFF addressed the media accompanied by Mr Shamlan Mubarik Head Coach, Kaleemullah & Faisal Iqbal Captain and Vice Captain of Pakistan National Football team & said that we hosted a bilateral football series with India 9 years ago in 2005 in which Indian National Football team visited Pakistan and played 3 matches but since then due to the regional circumstances Pakistan National Football team could not visit India. After 2009 terrorist attack on Srilankan cricket team everyone knows that Pakistan became no go area for International sports in Pakistan.
It was football which time and again raised the soft image of Pakistan by arranging International Football matches and events in Pakistan. Playing with India is always beneficial for the growth of sports for both the Nations. He further added that during the last one year Pakistan Football Federation has provided 10 International exposures to the National team for which a lot of efforts were put by PFF to meet the required financial resources.
This is for the preparation of Asian Games to be held in Korea in September 2014. After playing two matches in Bangalore, the Pakistan team will leave for Bahrain to play 3 matches there before returning back to Pakistan on August 31, 2014. He added that before Asian Games we even desire more International matches for our team.
President PFF further reiterated the achievements of PFF & its policies through which our players are now being picked up by professional clubs. It reflects our endevours to transform the Pakistan Football into a professional setup. Lucrative contracts have been offered to Pakistan’s renowned players Kaleemullah, Adil and Saddam are glorious examples for a bright future of football in our country.
The president PFF also appealed to the Nation that they should pray for the victory of Pakistan National Football Team in their matches in India.
Mr Shamlan Al Mubarik, head coach stated that the team is fully prepared and in best of physical condition. Our main target is the Asian Games in September and this tour will certainly help the boys to prepare themselves for that mega event. He further said that the team has gradually improved a lot and by the grace of almighty, the boys will give their 100% against India.
Kaleemullah the captain of Pakistan National football team while endorsing the efforts of PFF said that although Pakistan-India game is always a pressure game but the team is intact and we have a good combination of offensive and defensive players and win against India will lift our moral.
At this occasion Lt. Col. Rtd. Ahemd Yar Khan Lodhi General Secretary PFF, Wg. CDR. Rtd. Pervaiz Saeed Mir Director Development & Competitions PFF, Major Rtd. Jahangir Khan Lodhi Director Admin PFF, Sardar Naveed Haider Khan Marketing Consultant PFF and Shahid Khokhar Manager Media & Marketing PFF were also present at this occasion.
