KARACHI: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is planning to send the national under-22 team to Palestine next month in connection with the preparations for this year’s international assignments, sources told ‘The News’ on Wednesday.
The sources said that it was not yet confirmed but the PFF had been trying to send the team to Palestine next month. No official of the PFF could be contacted.
The sources said that Pakistan’s Bahraini coach Mohammed Shamlan wanted his team to tour Palestine.
The sources said that as the Premier League winners Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) would be featuring in the AFC President’s Cup from May 1-11, the PFF would have to plan so as not to affect their preparation.
As many as eight players of KRL are playing in the national team. Their star footballers Kaleemullah and Mohammad Adil have already joined Kyrgyzstan’s Dordoi Bishkek. The national team’s foreign tour could be made only in early April or after the first round of the AFC President’s Cup. Pakistan are preparing for the Under-22 Asian Cup Qualifiers and Asian Games this year.
