KARACHI: The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) informed the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) yesterday that they will not be hosting any matches due to political unrest in Dhaka.

The national team was scheduled to fly to Bangladesh today  to participate in friendlies on August 12 and 17.

However, the BFF requested the PFF to pick another date due to a series of strikes called on by Islamic radical political parties on August 13 and 14.

The PFF had organised the matches to prepare the squad for the South Asian Football Federation Championship.

PFF Secretary Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi said that the team would now continue training in Lahore and prepare for their tour to Afghanistan that begins on August 20.

“We can’t give them another date for this month,” Lodhi told The Express Tribune. We can have friendly matches with Bangladesh next year, maybe.”
