KARACHI: Defending champions Pakistan failed to turn their fortunes around as they played another goalless draw at the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U16 Championship against Bhutan in Kathmandu yesterday.
Pakistan had opened their campaign against Afghanistan with another draw earlier in the tournament.
Pakistan now need to win their final group match against Nepal, which takes place tomorrow, in order to qualify for the knockout stage.
“It’s a do or die situation now,” Pakistan coach Sajjad Mehmood told The Express Tribune. “We are disappointed in our strikers for missing opportunities against Bhutan. But I’m hoping we can do better now.”
Nepal lead the group table with four points, while Pakistan and Afghanistan have two points each.
