Karachi League opener ends all-square

Karachi: Defending champions Burma Mohammadan and Al Shahbaz could not be separated in the opening fixture of the 10th Aman Sports Karachi Football League, as the sides managed a goal apiece.

Burma Mohammadan took an early lead in the 12th minute through Mohammad Imran’s powerful strike but a defensive lapse helped Al Shahbaz draw level on the stroke of half time as Mohammad Noor took maximum advantage of the situation. The score remained unchanged till the final whistle as both teams walked away with a point each.

While the late fixture between Karachi United FC and Irfan Memorial was abandoned due to a power outage in the 35th minute at the Baloch Mujahid Stadium Ibrahim Hydri. Neither of KUFC and Irfan had broken the deadlock.

Director Pak Business Mr. M.M Ghalib was chief guest in the opening fixture of the game. He was full of praise for Karachi United’s efforts in promoting local football in the city. Vice President District East; Syed Usman Shah, Secretary District East; Captain Obaidullah, Secretary Sindh Football Referees Association; Qamar Yar Khan and organising secretary Riaz Ahmed were also present on the occasion.
