Rizwan’s brace gives Baloch Mujahid victory over FC Rovers

KARACHI: Mohammad Rizwan hit a brace to guide Baloch Mujahid to a 3-1 victory over struggling FC Rovers Malir Cantt in the 10th Aman Sports Karachi Football League 2013 on Tuesday night, 9 April 2013.

Here at the Baloch Mujahid Stadium Ibrahim Hydri, Rizwan’s double added to the misery of FC Rovers as Baloch Mujahid recorded their fist win in first to take 3 points.

Umer Bakhsh scored the third goal for the winners while Waqar Hussain landed the consolation goal for the Rovers.

“We had a good start to our crucial phase as the players were fresh and I believe we will produce better results in the days to come,” BM coach Abid Raza said.

Baloch Mujahid vs FC Rovers

FC Rovers coach Khalid Majeed lamented his strikers’ failure to convert chances. “We played well and still lost the game as we could not convert chances,” Khalid said.

FC Rovers could have struck in the sixth minute, but Irfan Junejo, after carrying the ball from the midfield, smashed it straight to the lone standing keeper instead of nudging it towards the far post.

Baloch Mujahid took the initiative whenUmer Bakhsh scored a fine goal in the 45th minute. At half time Baloch Mujahid 1-0 edge. Rizwan struck his first goal in the 53rd minute for Baloch Mujahid to make the things even more difficult for Rovers.

But Rovers following a few nasty rallies reduced the deficit in the 85th minute through Waqar Hussain. All this did not disturb the home ground team who added to their tally through Rizwan four minutes later to seal a comfortable victory.

Korangi Baloch & Azam Sports share spoils in a well contested match

KARACHI: An epic encounter in this year’s Aman Sports Karachi Football League ended in a 1-1 draw between home team Korangi Baloch and Azam Sports, at the Korangi Baloch Stadium in Sharafi.

A huge number of fans witnessed this gripping match and went home satisfied despite the draw. Azam Sports got the lead in the 18th minute through their departmental (PIA) player Waseemullah. In the 61st minute, Korangi Baloch players Abdul Wahid, Zain ul Abideen, Umair and Abdul Hafeez linked up well to get a sight on goal, Zain ul Abideen fired a powerful shot at the end of this passage of play and his effort came off the goalkeepers gloves and stayed in the area, only to be sent into the back of the net by Abdul Hafeez.

Korangi Baloch vs Azam Sports

Having drawn level, Korangi Baloch could not take maximum advantage of the momentum built by the equaliser and fired many chances wide. The game on the whole was entertaining for the fans who were not disappointed by the result. Both teams took a point each from this game, officiated by referee Mohammad Umar and his assistants Mohammad Arif and Ishaq Usman. HM Hanif was the match commissioner for this game.
