Adnan Ahmed put in a Man of the Match performance and scored his first goal for Droylsden in their first league win since October 2012. Droylsden took on bottom club Hinckley who had only managed 1 win all season and were rock bottom with just 3points.
Droylsden began this match by starting with two new signings in the hope that it would give them a much needed boost in a vital game against fellow relegation contenders. Hinckley have had troublesome season so far and this saw their 42 year old manager Carl Heggs named himself among the substitutes at the Butchers Arms Ground.
Luke Richards gave the visitors 1-0 lead in the 18th minute as they started to dominate the game with hosts looking lacklustre. The game was played out a slower pace after the first goal which suited the more rugged style of Hinckley as Droylsden very much struggled to get a foothold in the game with many of their passes in the attacking third lacking in cutting edge and accuracy.
In the 49th minute Matt Berkeley was presented with a dreamy scoring opportunity but somehow contrived to put the ball high and wide when it was easier to score. This was to be the strikers final contribution as he was withdrawn from play three minutes later.
Whilst Droylsden did approach the second half with greater attacking impetus but were incredibly fortunate not to have the game taken away from them when Hinckley had a shot cleared off the line, then hit the post and made Nlate make a good stop all in the space of 45 seconds.
Carlos Logan then converted a penalty to get home side level with his second goal in consecutive games. Droylsden were somehow in the game at this stage having been outplayed so far.
The turned for the better in the last minute as Adnan Ahmed slotted past the keeper to score his first goal for the Bloods and what Droylsden thought be enough to win the game. But it was short lived as 30seconds later with Liam Canavan levelled the scores once more from close range after the Droylsden defence failed to clear the danger multiple times.
Just when the match looked destined to peter out into a draw that suited no one really Steve Hall stepped up in the 90th minute to ensure Droylsden will fight another day.
The goal was eerily similar to the one that put them 2-1 ahead and Carl Heggs will be livid his side failed to learn their lessons from just five minutes previously.
Adnan Ahmed will join up with Pakistan National Team on 10th of March for the AFC Challenge Cup Qualifiers in Kyrgyzstan.
