The 2nd Karachi United Youth Football League 2011-12 began on 29 November 2011 across Karachi featuring as many as 10 U14 academy sides. Organised by the Karachi United Football Foundation (KUFF) and sponsored by Lotte PPTA Ltd., the event was opened at KUFF North Nazimabad Centre with much fan fare.
6 KUFF centres (North Nazimabad, Malir, Korangi, Lyari, Old Golimar, North Karachi) and 4 academies (Gulshan Soccer Academy, Baloch Mujahid Academy, Karachi City Football Academy, Aga Khan Football Academy) are taking part in this 2nd edition of the KUYFL on a single league format, with a total of 49 fixtures planned.
Many DFA officials, journalists, officials, and crowd from across the city witnessed a glittering ceremony. Mr Asif Saad, CEO of Lotte PPTA Ltd., was chief guest on the occasion as he expressed his immense gratitude to play a major part with KUFF administration for the betterment of football talent not just in Karachi but also rest of the country. Also present were KUFF directors Taha Alizai, Adeel Rizki, Furqan Ali, and Khawaja Ubaid Ilyas, administrators Riaz Ahmed and head coach Arshad Jamal, VP of Sindh FA and DFA Malir President Fateh Muhammad Baloch, DFA West secretary Rahim Bakhsh, DFA South president Gulab Baloch, DFA Central VP Muhammad Shamim et al. were all in attendance.
All of them spoke highly about Lotte PPTA deciding to sponsor such a mega event and hoped such a relationship will continue. Lotte PPTA CEO Asif Saad then opened the tournament with a customary kick of a football, with KUFF Coaching Director Adeel Rizki presenting a KUFF shirt in honour of the chief guest.
On opening day, 3 games were played. KUFF Korangi Centre drew 1-1 with Baloch Mujahid Academy, with Muhammad Usman scoring for KUFF Korangi while Ali Haider scored for Baloch Mujahid Academy. In 2nd game, KUFF North Nazimabad Centre beat Karachi City Academy 1-0 with a goal from midfielder Ubaid Ullah in 2nd half.
Final game of the opening day saw KUFF Malir Centre beat Gulshan Soccer Academy 4-1. Junaid Baloch scored twice while Rasheed and Yasir scored once each for KUFF Malir, while Muhammad Israr scored from the penalty spot for losing side. Referees were Habib Ullah, Babar Khan, M Imran, M Rashid, and math commissioner Abdul Karim.
On Friday (2 Dec) the Trans-Lyari Football Stadium in Old Golimar sees KUFF Old Golmar face KUFF Lyari Centre. On 3 Dec, KUFF North Nazimabad host Gulshan Soccer Academy. Then on 4 Dec, Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi sees Baloch Mujahid Academy host KUFF Korangi.
