Young Kalakot FC from Lyari Town, Karachi joined hosts Makhdoom Bilawal Shaheed FC (Dadu), Al-Shabaz FC (Nawabshah), and Lucky Star FC (Dadu) for the semi-finals of the All-Sindh Shaheed Benazir Football Tournament after beating Jeay Lal FC (Usta Mohammad) in the penalty shoot-out at Govt. Degree College Ground in Dadu.
The game had finished scoreless in the final quarter-final between the two sides, leading to penalties. Young Kalakot goalkeeper Daniyal Baloch showed a tremendous performance throughout the game as he kept out many promising attempts from Jeay Lal FC to score.
In the shoot-out, Daniyal stunned the Usta Mohammad side as he saved 4 consecutive spot kicks from Shakeel, Sunny, Khan, and Muhammad Khan in the penalty shoot-out while Nawab and Furqan scored their attempts for Young Kalakot as they won 2-0 in the shoot-out to enter the semi-finals to face Al-Shabaz FC (Nawabshah).
Referees were Shaukat Gottai, Niaz Baloch and Saeed Baloch, while Eid Mohammad Jamali (Jacobabad) was Match Commissioner.
The match was attended by Pervaiz Ahmed Chandio (EDO Finance, Dadu) as chief guest along with his 3 young children. He praised the way the Shaheed Benazir Cup was being organised, given this was Dadu’s first mega football event in 15 years.
Pervaiz Ahmed Chandio vowed to ensure that this tournament will become an annual fixture in the future with full support from the Dadu district government. He also praised Karachi-based journalist Riaz Ahmed for coming to Dadu and giving tremendous coverage of the event in the nationwide print and electronic media.
