Makhdoom Bilawal Shaheed reach QFs of All-Sindh Benazir Cup

Tournament hosts Makhdoom Bilawal Shaheed FC (Dadu) confirmed their place in the quarter-finals of the All-Sindh Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Football Tournament after beating Baloch FC Jamshoro 2-0 at Government Degree College Ground, Dadu on Saturday 18 June 2011.

Both of Makhdoom Bilawal Shaheed’s goals were scored in first half. In 11th minute, midfielder Mumtaz Ali scored from a well-struck freekick from 20 yards out to open the scoring. The lead was then doubled in 20th minute when Raja Soomro’s corner kick was headed in by Abdul Majeed Rahi to make it 2-0.

In 2nd half, the hosts maintained their dominance of the game but could not increase their lead. Poor finishing by Danish Ali, M Naeem, and Rashid Ali meant the score remained 2-0 at the end. Even Baloch FC Jamshoro had a few chances in the game but their players Javed, Majid, Ali, Sumair, and Zahid missed the target.

The result gave Makhdoom Bilawal Shaheed FC a place in the quarter-finals. Referees were Shaukat Gottai, Niaz Ahmed, and Saeed Baloch (Karachi), while match commissioner was Eid Muhammad Jamali (Khairpur).

On Monday 20 June 2011, Al-Abbas FC (Rohri) face Al-Shabaz FC (Nawabshah).
