Hosted by Engro Vopak at Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi, the All-Karachi Engro Football Cup saw four teams of Engro Corporation taking part. Engro Foods, Engro Vopak, Engro Eximp, and Engro Polymers took part in event.
Engro Foods won the final 4-3 against Enrgo Vopak with Syed Khateeb Hussain scoring all four goals for winning team. According to organiser Khalid Maheed, Arslan of Engro Eximp was declared best player, Khateeb Hussain of Engro Foods won top scorer award with 6 goals, while Engro Foods’ Ateeq Khan was best goalkeeper.
Khateeb Hussain gave Engro Foods a 2-0 lead within the first 6 minutes as he scored twice in 4th and 6th minutes. Ammar Shah scored for Engro Vopak to make it 2-1 barely a minute later Khateeb Hussain completed his hat-trick and then scored another in 17th minute to make it 4-1 for Engro Foods before half time. In 2nd half, Engro Vopak battled hard and scored twice through Tasneem Ahmed (32′ and 40′) to make the score 4-3. However, Engro Foods’ goalie Ateeq Khan kept out many chances from opposition players allowing his side to hold on to their slender lead to win the final in the end.
Before the final, Engro Eximp won the 3rd place game against Engro Polymers 3-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Arslan Ahmed (16′,31′,38′) while Rao Nadeem managed one goal for Engro Polymers (33′).
In first semi-final, Engro Foods beat Engro Polymers 2-1 thanks to a brace from Syed Khateeb Hussain (6′,19′) while Hamza scored once for losing side. In other semi-final, Engro Vopak beat Engro Eximp 3-1 thanks to goals from Rashid Bhatti (4′), Mati uz Zaman (8′) and Ammar Shah (18′) while Raheel Alam scored once for Engro Eximp in 26th minute.
Referees were Babar Khan, Farrukh Riaz, Mumtaz Baloch, and Rasheed Baloch while match commissioner was Abdul Karim (member Central Zone).
