Super Shaheen beats Lasbela Students to go through to next round. Chief Guest Sadiq Mandokhel announces Rs 100,000 contribution to organising committee. Referee Muhammad Rizwan suspended for one month by ZFRA for prematurely ending match.
Organised by Azad Shaheen FC and Frontier Mujahid FC of Zone West, the All-Karachi Haji Hakeem Khan Mandokhel Memorial Football Tournament kicked off on Thursday (21 April 2011) with Super Shaheen (Baldia Town) beating Lasbela Students in a thrilling encounter 2-1 to qualify for the next round in the 64 team knock-out format tournament hosted at Azad Shaheen Football Ground opposite Valika Hospital, where two matches will be hosted daily.
The match was attended by chief guest Sadiq Khan Mandokhel, who met both teams at half time, praised the organising committee of the tournament led by Fazal Wahid Babu, as well as contributing Rs 100,000 for the tournament’s successful running. Other guests included Rahim Bakhsh (Sec. Zone West), Amir Sardar (V.C. Zone West), Chaudhary Israr (Chairman, Referees Zone West), Riaz Ahmed (sports journalist), Sikandar Khan Yousafzai, Hameed ur Rehman, Jan Muhammad Janu, Khalid Majeed, Shah Wali et al. Referees were Dil Murad with assistants Muhammad Rizwan and Saleem Hussain, while match commissioner was Rizwan Khan.
Azad Shaheen and Frontier Mujahid had previously jointly hosted two other tournament finals. Shama Sports (Baldia Town) beat Metroville Star 1-0 in final of All-Karachi Khalil ur Rehman Memorial Football Tournament thanks to a goal from Muhammad Nizam, while Afghan Shaheen (Baldia Town) beat hosts Azad Shaheen 3-0 on penalties after 0-0 score in final of All Karachi Arslan Khan Memorial Football Tournament.

The Zonal Football Referees Association, Karachi West has suspended national referee Muhammad Rizwan for 1 month after he prematurely blew the final whistle before time in the Young Bilal (Landhi) vs Nako Khan Muhammad Memorial FC in the Hakeem Khan Mandokhel Memorial Football Tournament. The game was 0-0 at that stage, and after the final whistle penalties decided the winner as Young Bilal won 4-3 in shoot-out to go through to next round.
Sameen Khan, Secretary Referees Zone West, noticed the incident and immediately suspended Muhammad Rizwan for 1 month and sacking him from any football activities for the duration of his suspension. Copies of Rizwan’s suspension order have been sent to the respective Zonal FAs of CDGK as well as the Sindh Football Referees Association.

The All-Karachi Ada Sher Muhammad Memorial Football Tournament, hosted by Pak Baloch FC (Garden West) with full backing from Zonal FA Karachi West, begins on 24 April 2011 Pak Baloch Ground. According to tournament’s organising secretary Maula Bakhsh Baloch, 64 teams from across Karachi have been invited to take part in this knock-out tournament.
The opening fixture will see Usmanabad Union (Zone South) face Golimar Azad (Old Golimar, Zone West) at 5 PM. Ejaz Ahmed, MD of AI Mineral Water, will inaugurate the tournament as chief guest of the match.
