Hamara Karachi Inter-School 7-side Tourney begins

The Hamara Karachi Inter-School 7-a-side Football Tournament began on Sunday 6 March 2011 at National Soccer Academy Ground (Paposh) featuring 6 schools from across Karachi. In the opening fixture, the two North Nazimabad schools in Beaconhouse and The City School faced off with chief guest Farrukh Humayun Zaidi (Administrator, North Nazimabad Town) inaugurating the tournament. The chief guest also expressed his support help NSA Ground become a model football ground in the city with active support from local organisers, sponsors, and parliamentarians to improve the pitch and facilities.

Other guests present on the occasion included Mushtaq Ahmed (ADO CDGK), Shabir Hussain (DDO Parks, CDGK), NSA chairman Arshad Jamal, organising secretary Riaz Ahmed, ex-internationals Muhammad Shamim Khan (coach PIA), Mohsin Shah (KPT), and Syed Sultan Ali (PIA), sports coordinator Yousaf Kidwai, Abdul Karim (member Central), Khalid Majeed etc.

Beaconhouse beat The City School 5-0 in pening game with Noman Tahir scoring a hat-trick, while Uzaifa Rajpoot scored twice. In 2nd game, Civilisations Public School thrashed Falconhouse School 9-0 with goals from Sohail Tariq (3), Jibran Amjad (2), Hassan Asghar (2), Nabeel Ahmed (1), and Huzaimat (1). The winning teams earned 3 points each.

Referees were Habib Ullag and Farrukh Riaz while match commissioner was Abdul Karim.
