Veteran football journalist from Karachi, Riaz Ahmed, caught up with KESC winger Abdul Rehman for a brief interview. The Pakistani international, who has been playing in Pakistan Premier Football League for many years for KESC football team, made his national team debut in 2008 AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers held in Chinese Taipei.
In the interview Abdul Rehman expressed the need for establishing and sustaining nationwide football academies under proper coaching to groom the young raw talent across Pakistan and make them establish themselves as future professional players.
Abdul Rehman also urged the Pakistan Football Federation to facilitate the establishment of football academies in Pakistan and encourage people to help in the continued growth and promotion of the game in Pakistan.
At the moment KESC are fighting to claim 2nd place in 2010 PPFL season with Lahore-based WAPDA in comfortable position to reclaim the league title once again.
