PFF CONGRESS 2010

Lahore, 28 December: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)’s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat has said that football is now happening sports in Pakistan and we will leave no stone unturned to grip berth in London Olympics and World Cup Qualifiers. The year 2011 is composed of high-profile FIFA/AFC event, as Pakistan National team will also appear in 4th AFC Challenge Cup and SAFF Championship besides AFC U16, U19, U13 events and other international events.The launch of Vision Asia was a milestone in the country’s football history. “We have made significant progress in the promotion and development of football in Pakistan and are optimistic about its gaining more popularity in coming years. He gave statements during PFF Congress at the FIFA Football House on Tuesday, attended by all Congress members.

The Full House appreciated the great services of the President PFF towards the promotion of the game in Pakistan and assured him of their complete support in future. The PFF Congress also Approved PFF Calendar 2011 within approximate budget 5 Crore 50 Lac as well as Minutes of the last congress held in August 2010 was passed unanimously.

Faisal also congratulated Pakistan WAPDA for winning Pakistan Premier Football League, thus earning ticket of 7th AFC President’s Cup and Young Rising Star for lifting 6th National Women Championship at Islamabad. He also praised the effort of female footballer as they earned semi final spot in only their second international assignment during SAFF Women Championship.

2010 PFF Congress Meeting

Congress gave approval for the District, Provincial, PFF elections in 2011. The final election list and the appointment of Regional & Provincial Election Commissioners were approved by full House unanimously. Permanent membership has been given to Islamabad Football Association, Afghan FC Chaman, PMC Athletico Faisalabad, Young Rising Star Women Club Rawalpindi & Diya Women Football Club Karachi with the induction of these 7 new members. The strength of PFF congress has been increased to 29.

Faisal said that Pakistan football is on strong footings and The House praised PFF Chief’s dedication, devotion, commitment and true love with football who pushed the football in the such height that Australia and South Korea had decided to soccer of Pakistan. Australian High Commissioner Timothy George, announced Australian $18,000 sports development grant to PFF approved by Peter Bartlett, First Secretary (Political), Australian High Commission, Islamabad on 10 November, two weeks earlier, South Korea’s millionaire football man and FIFA Vice President Dr Chung Mong-joon who has donated 400,000 dollars for victims of the recent devastating floods in Pakistan.

Faisal also praised the efforts of PFF’s advisor Arif Rahim who was instrumental for PFF’s deal with Sialkot’s Vision Technologies Corporation Limited (VTCL) as their official kit and soccer ball sponsors and their high-class kits, balls were visible in 6th National Women Championship. “ all the Directors are going well with their assignments in PFF and country wide Club scrutiny was challenging work but PFF’s Director Clubs Lt.Col ® Farasat Ali Shah did the job with all out efforts,” added Faisal. PFF congress also decided that the active clubs sorted out from the Scrutiny process will become base of electrol of District and Provincial Association for the next Elections and depending on this, PFF will decide the Conveners for the Elections.

It turned out to be another successful year for PFF and President praised the display of Pakistan U14 Football team in AFC U14 Festival of Football at Al Quids Stadium, Hamedan City,Iran. “It turned out to be a fascinating and absorbing event for Pakistan suffered only one defeat and stood second in the event.

During the Meet, PFF made several Amendments in Constitution on the Instructions of Vision Asia team, as per Statutes laid down in FIFA, AFC. “PFF is committed to implement Vision Asia’s principles of football development in systematically developing the game in Pakistan. We have taken a lot of positives from the Vision Asia principles. It will help us set up a systematic development plan not only for players but also for coaches and referees. Vision Pakistan’ priority is to improve the country’s level of football. Pakistan football made a giant leap when it was steered into Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) Vision Asia plan, “ he said.

Faisal asked PFF operation Cell to accommodate two more teams in Pakistan Premier Football League and asked them to compile Accountability record of all the coaches working under the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) AID-27 Financial Assistance Scheme and asked them to prepare merit record of all the players whom they coaches and select in various age limits shows as well as National level.

“Even with sizeable annual budget Pakistan kept producing sensational results such as overwhelming Kyrgyzstan, Chinese Taipei, Turkmenistan, Singapore, India, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal while drawing with Iraq, Iran, Oman, China and Bahrain in recent events, he said: “We bagged our record breaking fourth gold in SAF Games history in 2006 to overpower India’s record. We will develop a strong Pakistan U21 team to give us spot in 16-team finals during London Olympics Qualifiers next year, “ Faisal concluded.
