Tanzeem Sports Gizri won the final of the All-Sindh Clear Men Invitational Futsal Tournament after an amazing finale where they beat Karachi Kickers 5-4 on penalty shoot-out. Earlier this year, Tanzeem Sports (Riyan) had also beaten Karachi Kickers (Old Fighter) in final of Clear Men Futsal Tournament held at Creek Club, DHA Karachi with an extra-time score of 7-2 on 25th April 2010 where they received Rs 100,000 cash prize from Karachi United Foundation head coach Arshad Jamal.
In the All-Sindh Clear Men Football Tanzeem and Karachi Kickers qualified for the final having beaten Hazara Muhammadan and Gulistan Friends respectively in the semis. In the final held at the Korangi Muhammadan Stadium, the game was tied 0-0 at end of normal time. The match witnessed intense end to end action but poor finishing let both teams down.
In the shoot out, Tanzeem Sports’ three brothers Muhammad Khan, Mehmood Khan and Shahid Khan converted their spot kicks successfully alongside Muhammad Rizwan and Muhammad Javed. Karachi Kickers were not so lucky as only Abdullah Ameen, Noor ul Haq, and Javed were successful in their attempts while senior midfielder Faisal Madani missed his attempt to give Tanzeem Sports the title.
The chief guest for the final was Sindh FA Chairman Abbas Baloch who distributed prizes and trophies for both finalists. He also congratulated the tournament organiser Master Riasat Ali for organising the event in such a fine fashion. Other guests present were Unilever Pakistan’s Project Manager Shafiq Mughal, Brand Manager Saima Ansari, Zarfashan, Secretary Central Zone Asif Zaheer, Secretary Malir Zone Shahjahan Baloch, chief tournament organiser Master Riasat Ali as well as a spokesman from MNA Syed Asif Hasnain.
Unilever representatives vowed to continue supporting such events and declared that after Eid-ul-Adha break, all arrangements have been made for further editions of Clean Men Football Tournaments to be held in Nawabshah and Sukkur. Asif Hasnain’s representative declared that Korangi Muhammadan Stadium and its facilities will be improved on modern standings via the MNA funds allocated soon.
