KPT, KESC, PIA earn convincing win

Lahore, 30 Nov: Shortly-built spearhead Muhammad bin Younus slammed the 14th hat-trick as three more matches were decided in Pakistan Premier Football League. Younus showed his striking ability in KPT’s 6-1 win over Sahiwal’s Young Blood at KPT – Benazir Sports Complex, West Wharf Road, Kharadar, Karachi.

The man from Karachi West’s Baloch Union Club, Younus raised his tally to eight when he proved too smart for Blood’s keeper in one-sided affair. His goals emerged in the 24th, 78th and 84th minute while the two-goal Zahid Ahmed became top scorer for the Portmen with goals in the 15th and 75th minute. Zahid, product of Lyari’s Nawab Eleven Club, have nine goals for KPT in the event. KPT managed 43 goals in 21 matches and secured

40 points. Their fifth goal was netted by Muhammad Waseem in the 83rd minute. Blood hammered honor-saving goal through winger Asim Mansoor in the 56th minute, ninth for the young lad born in Sahiwal.

Pakistani skipper Muhammad Essa and Abdul Rehman earned brace as KESC thrashed visitors from Faisalabad, PMC Athletico 5-0 at Peoples Sports Complex, Mauripur Road, Lyari Town, Karachi.

SAF Games Gold Medallist in 2004, 2006, Essa dispatched his two sparkling goals in the 27 and 73 minute while Rehman, playing his second league for KESC and have the privilege of scoring on international debut, clipped the ball past PMC gloveman Wasim Akber in the 59 and 63 minutes. Left winger Orangzaib Shahmir netted once in the 76th minute.

NBP failed to absorb the relentless pressure of PIA and went down 1-2 at Sharafi Goth’s Korangi Baloch Stadium, Landhi Town. The star performer for the 9-Times Champion was midfielder Saddam Hussain who played for Pakistan U23 team in 16th Asian Games at Guanghzou 2010. Nephew of Muhammad Bahsh of Malir Shaheen, Saddam started the proceedings in explosive way, turning the ball past Amir Gul in the 37th seconds.

Saddam came into action again in the 33rd minute with a lovely goal. PIA, Sixth in 2007 and 2009 and 8th in 2008, led 2-0 at interval. Misbah Ul Hassan-led NBP, currently among last five teams, pulled one back in the 63rd minute but the bankers failed to land the equalizer and suffered eighth defeats.
