Lahore, 13 March : Lahore will host PFF D-Certificate Football Coaching Course from 25-30 March 2009 at Punjab Stadium. ‘On the directives of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)’s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, PFF operation Wing used to conduct such courses. It will be fourth of the five such courses in current year after conclusion of three editions at Karachi (12-17 January) , Peshawar (18-23 February) and Sibi (2-7 March) during which former national coaches Siddique Sheikh and Akhtar Mohiuddin gave lectures to coaches under 30 years of age. The lectures were based on rules of the game, basics of coaching, planning for training and coaching, little know-how about injuries, body changes as a result of exercises,” said PFF Secretary General Lt.Col ® Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi.
Punjab Football Association (PFA), with the collaboration of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), will organize six-day Course during which 24 participants from different districts all across Punjab will turn up for the course. Siddique Sheikh will act as Instructor, the duty he performed at Karachi and Peshawar. According to PFA Secretary Muhammad Latif, aiming to improve the abilities and techniques of coaches, PFF decided to conduct the course. All the arrangements are being completed to host the course in befitting manner.
Ahmed Lodhi said that four key things like coaching, competitions, talent hunt and selection on merit are very important. He assured that the players, organizers that PFF is well on the way to take steps for the improvement of the overall game structure of the game and the necessity of coaches is very important chapter in the this game of masses’
“We pinned hopes on them to unearth future stars while Nation is also looking towards them to bring fire into Pakistan soccer in order to find spot in biggers events like World Cup, Olympics, Asia Cup,” said Lodhi who added that the course has been divided in two sessions . In morning, the coaches will get coaching through theoretical classes while in evening there is practical demonstration of various skills related to the coaching for the kids.
Islamabad will host the fifth edition of the Course from 13-18 April 2009 at Jinnah Stadium.
