KARACHI: WAPDA brushed aside Muslim FC 4-1 on Saturday thanks to a double from striker Mohammad Afzal in their PPFL match at the Railway football stadium in Lahore.
Afzal gave a perfect start to his side as he scored in the very first minute of the match to leave Muslim FC’s players completely stunned.
WAPDA pressed hard to enhance their lead but were unlucky not to stretch their one-goal lead in the first period.
However, the second-half proved to be fruitful. Zulfiqar Ali doubled the lead for WAPDA just four minutes before the hour mark.
Soon after the score was 3-0 as WAPDA skipper and their talisman Arif Mehmood struck five minutes later.
The superb showing was rounded off by Afzal when he netted his second and WAPDA’s fourth goal in the 78 minute to ensure an easy outing and maximum points for his team.

GPA pip PPWD in seven-goal thriller
Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) came back from two goals down to win 4-3 against Pak Public Works Department (PPWD) in their 2nd Division PPFL match here at the Korangi Baloch football stadium, Karachi. All the seven goals came in the last 45 minutes, after a barren first half.
Meanwhile, Wohaib FC Lahore overwhelmed Mansab FC Kharaan 5-2 at the Punjab University ground in Lahore. Ashraf Sugar Mills edged-past Pak Steel 1-0 while FATA and Baloch FC Quetta played out a 2-2 draw.
