KRL stretch lead in PPL with easy win

KARACHI: Kaleem Ullah scored a brace to help leaders Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) extend their lead with a 2-0 victory over Punjab Medical College (PMC) Club Athletico Faisalabad in their match of the 8th Pakistan Premier Football League 2011 held at the Municipal Stadium (Saidpur Road) in Rawalpindi on Thursday 13 Oct 2011.

The win, the 13th from 14 matches KRL have played so far, helped them inflate their tally to 40 points while the loss left Faisalabad-based PMC Athletico struggling with ten points from 17 matches.

Chaman-native and international Kaleem ullah, who is a permanent member of the Pakistan team, struck twice for the winners in the 54th and 83rd minute. Earlier, in the first half, the 2009 champions KRL had good possession of the ball but they failed to capitalise on it due to poor display from the frontline.
