Hamara Karachi Football Festival starts from 5th March

Farrukh Humayun Zaidi, the administrator of North Nazimabad Town, announced the commencement of the Hamara Karachi Festival 7-a-side Day and Night Football Tournament to be held from 5-11 March 2011 at the National Soccer Academy (NSA) ground in Paposh, Karachi.

The tournament organising committee includes its chief Dr Muhammad Ali Shah (Sindh Provincial Minister for Sports), chairman Farrukh Humayun Zaidi, chief organiser Arshad Jamal, organising secretary Riaz Ahmed, while other members include Asif Khan, Jaffar Khan, and Adnan Sial.

16 top teams from across Karachi will participate in a knock-out format with final on 11th March at NSA Ground. All teams have been allowed free entry and can use not more than 2 department-based players in their squads for the tournament. Participants include defending champs NSA, Shah Faisal (Nazimabad), Gulshan Soccer, Aga Khan Gymkhana, Young Muslim (Orangi), Baloch Youth Garden, Frontier City, Khyber Muslim, Al-Shabaz Korangi, Burma Mohammadan (Korangi), Irfan Memorial (Landhi), FC Rovers (Malir), Karachi United, and Gharib Shah XI.

The opening game on 5th March will see Al-Shabaz face off Gulshan Soccer Academy with a chief guest being a prominent MQM parliamentarian.
