Kuala Lumpur: Teams aiming to vie for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2027™ title discovered their Qualifiers challenge following the Draw at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.
The 35 teams were divided into seven groups of five to contest a single round-robin centralised league for the qualifying rounds that run from November 8 to 20, 2026.
The seven group winners will join the nine AFC representatives from the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026 who have automatically qualified – Australia, China PR, Japan (defending champions), Korea Republic, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam – in the Finals.
Top seeds Indonesia will have to contend with hosts Myanmar, Afghanistan, Philippines and Cambodia in Group A while the four hopefuls in Group B are Thailand (hosts), Iraq, Hong Kong, China, Chinese Taipei and Maldives.
Aiming to advance from Group C will be hosts United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, Syria, Bhutan and Macau, China while Laos (hosts), Islamic Republic of Iran, Jordan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are the Group D cast.
Group E will see India, hosts Malaysia, Palestine, Singapore and Guam vying for sole ticket to the Finals while Yemen, Turkmenistan, hosts Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia and Northern Mariana Island will battle for the Group F top spot.
Group G, will see hosts Oman going head to head with Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon and Brunei Darussalam.
The AFC U17 Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2027 will be contested on May 12-29, 2027.
