PFF plans a National U17 Championship

PFF Press Release – 1 June 2026

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is pleased to announce the launch of the National Under-17 Championship, marking a significant step in the Federation’s ongoing efforts to revive and restructure domestic football across the country.

The championship will bring together regional teams from across Pakistan, competing for national honours at the Under-17 level.

“This championship is the first pillar of a domestic competition calendar that PFF is committed to expanding. Every young player in Pakistan deserves a structured, competitive pathway, and we are committed to building one,” said PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani.

PFF COO Shahid Niaz Khokhar added: “Pakistan’s football future will be built on the quality of its youth competitions. The National Under-17 Championship is where that work begins.”

The Under-17 Championship forms part of PFF’s broader mandate to build a sustainable football pyramid in Pakistan, creating structured competitive pathways for young players from grassroots to the national team setup. The Championship will also serve as the primary selection ground for the national squad ahead of the SAFF Under-17 Championship, which Pakistan will host.
