KARACHI : The men’s football event of the National Games kicked off yesterday. Two matches were played at the KPT Football Stadium on the opening day.
According to Organising Secretary Tahir Baloch, in the first Group A match, Pakistan Police defeated Sindh 2–1. In the second match, Pakistan Army overcame Pakistan Navy 2–1.
At the KMC Football Stadium, in a Group B encounter, Pakistan Air Force edged WAPDA 1–0 in a tough contest to begin their campaign with a victory.
The women’s matches will start today. In the men’s event, three matches are scheduled for today. In Group A at the KPT Stadium, Sindh will take on Army at 1 pm, followed by Navy facing Police at 3 pm.
