Kathmandu, Nepal: The 2025 SAFF Women’s Club Championship at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu saw Indian women’s football giants and tournament favourites East Bengal overcome Pakistan’s Karachi City 2-0.
An early strike from Sulanjana Raul gave East Bengal the lead before Resty Nanziri doubled it soon after the break. Karachi City, led by Pakistan WNT captain Maria Khan, tried to reduce the deficit but chances were few in between.
The result meant East Bengal have registered successive wins with 6 points. This was Karachi City’s first loss in the inaugural SAFF Women’s Club Championship after two successive 0-0 draws against Bhutan’s Transport United and Bangladesh’s Nasrin Sports Academy.
The result means Karachi City, on 2 points from 3 games, are more or less out of contention for the top two spots in the 5-team tournament to qualify for the final.
They now play tournament hosts and expected finalists APF FC on 14 December for their last game of the event.
