Pakistan’s maiden Futsal ACQs ends with defeat to Chinese Taipei

Anak: Chinese Taipei closed out their AFC Futsal Asian Cup™ Indonesia 2026 Qualifiers Group D campaign with a 4-0 win over Pakistan on Wednesday.

Having suffered consecutive defeats against Saudi Arabia and Iraq, Chinese Taipei led from start to finish to finish third in the standings.

Chinese Taipei were the early aggressors with Hsieh Chin-Cheng dragging his shot from distance wide in the opening minute before forcing Pakistan keeper Muhammad Tahir into an early save.

Pakistan played in patches and struggled to contain the East Asian side, whose attacks stemmed from the flanks with Wang Kun-Wei forcing his way through to reach a through ball in the 14th minute, only to see his effort denied by the right post.

Tahir stayed firm under pressure to deny Lin Chih-Hung’s close range effort off a free-kick but his efforts were undone in the 10th minute after conceding a back pass from Yousaf Ahmad.

The East Asian side stayed on top of their game in the second half with Hsieh Chin-Cheng converting Wang Kun-Wei’s set-piece a minute after the restart before Huang Wei-Lun struck from the spot in the 26th minute.

Pakistan’s power play move in the 36th minute backfired with Chinese Taipei keeper Lin Kuan-Ting scoring from his own area into the unattended net to seal the win.
