Syed Mohsen Gilani lauds DFA Multan for successful U23 team tryouts

Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) President Syed Mohsen Gilani has commended the District Football Association (DFA) Multan for their outstanding efforts in organising the U23 National Men’s Team tryouts, held at the Divisional Sports Ground in Multan.

The two-day trials were conducted as part of the national team’s preparations for the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers, set to take place in Saudi Arabia.

“It’s great to see talent emerging from all corners of Pakistan after nearly a decade,” said President Gilani. “The passion and dedication shown by these young players give us renewed hope for the future of Pakistan football.”

Under the supervision of assistant coaches Muhammad Habib, Mehmood Khan, Gohar Zaman, and goalkeeper coach Jaffar Khan, the tryouts provided a vital platform for aspiring players to demonstrate their skills and football intelligence.

Nearly 500 players from all provinces participated in the trials, including overseas Pakistanis from Australia, Europe, and the UAE — a reflection of the growing international interest in representing Pakistan at the youth level.

The coaching panel conducted a detailed assessment of the players’ performances, and the final 23-member squad for the qualifiers will be announced after a thorough evaluation.
