LAHORE: Balochistam former sports minister and former international footballer Lt Col (retd) Younis Changezi has shown deep concerns over the way football and the PFF electoral affairs are being handled by the FIFA-appointed Normalisation Committee, adding NC has destroyed the careers of young footballers.
“The Normalisation Committee formed by FIFA has destroyed the careers of Pakistan’s youth. Elections of the Government of Pakistan can be held in three months so why did the Normalisation Committee take five years?” Changezi said.
He said that the district elections have been conducted on WhatsApp which is a joke. “If they delay the provincial election further I will be the first to protest against them now,” Changezi warned.
“It’s a huge loss that NC did not field teams in SAFF Under-20 and AFC Under-20. Why haven’t our children’s dues been paid for the past one year? Army plays an important role in the promotion of sports. For the sake of one vote NC ignored Army women football team along with four other teams,” he observed.
“Why was no action taken against those responsible for the FIFA goal projects,” he said. He requested the president and the prime minister to take notice of this matter and save Pakistan football from further destruction. He said an audit of the Normalisation Committee should be conducted as per the recommendations of the Standing Committee of the IPC to find out where they have spent the money.
