Pakistan Army and HEC from Group A, KRL and the Pakistan Navy from Group B have advanced to the Quarterfinals of the 2023 National Challenge Cup (NCC).
Four matches were played on the fifth day of the National Challenge Cup (NCC) 2023 final round at Jinnah Sports Complex, Islamabad.
In the first match, the Pakistan Army emerged triumphant against NIMSO with a 3-0 win, courtesy of Anees’s two goals and Hassan’s one.
In the second match, Pakistan Navy secured a 3-0 victory over SA Farms. Noman Dodo, Farhanullah and Naveed contributed with one goal each.
In the third match, HEC beat PACA with 1-0. The only goal of the match was scored by Haleem.
In the fourth match, KRL edged past Masha United with a scoreline of 4-0. Shahzaib, Najeebullah, Muhammad Waheed and Ali Agha scored a piece for KRL.
Group A ends with Army on top with 9 points after 3 wins out of 3 games, HEC finish 2nd with 6 points, PACA and NIMSO bow out with 3 points and 0 points respectively.
Group B ends with KRL on top courtesy superior goal difference with 6 points, Navy finish finish second also with 6 points. Masha United and SA Farms bow out with 4 points and 1 point respectively.
Tomorrow, 6 May, sees Groups C and D conclude their games at Jinnah Sports Complex, Islamabad. WAPDA, who have already qualified for quarterfinals, face WSTC while Pakistan Police face Otto Cranes in Group C.
SA Gardens, who have also reached next round, face Asia Ghee Mills while Pakistan Air Force (PAF) face Pakistan Railways in Group D.
