Pakistan women’s football team is set to play against Singapore women’s team in FIFA-friendly matches during the month of July, sources said.

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) and the Football Association of Singapore agreed to play two matches during next month’s Fifa window.

Pakistan and Singapore women’s teams will play two matches between July 13 and 19. An official announcement is to be made by PFF after the Eid holidays.

PFF had also talked to Kyrgyzstan and Mauritius before Singapore, but couldn’t come to a settlement with them.

The camp of the women’s football team is going on in Karachi for preparation for international friendlies.

Aqsa Mushtaq, who plays football in England, can also be included in the team for friendlies against Singapore.

Kayanat Bokhari, who played as a midfielder for DSVP’s first women’s team in the Netherlands, has also joined the ongoing training camp and is eager to mark her debut in the Green shirt. Meanwhile, US-based Kyla Siddiqi will also join the camp in the first week of July.

Earlier, the women’s team’s coach Adeel Rizki said that the team is focused on playing attacking football.

“There’s always room for improvement and we are trying to improve in all areas, but the main thing is progression, we have organized our defensive line. You must have seen how we contained against the Philippines.

“In this camp, our main focus is on pressing, ball movement, creating spaces and making sure we keep playing an attacking brand of football,” Adeel told Geo on the sidelines of the practice session in KPT stadium.

The head coach added that the team looked good and players are injury free. He said that idea is also to provide players with different kinds of conditions and pitches so that they can prepare well for future assignments.

He further stated that this (FIFA-friendly window) is a very good opportunity for the Pakistan women’s team as they can try and experiment few different things and he was looking forward to doing that.
