KARACHI: Abdul Football Club recovered from a 0-2 deficit to eventually record a thrilling 5-4 victory on penalty shootout against Flames Football Club in the inaugural Tapal Football Cup final here at the Khayaban-e-Rahat Football Ground on Tuesday.
Flames FC took a 2-0 lead in the first half after their players Mohammad Faizan and Abdul Wahaj scored one goal each. But Abdul FC made a strong comeback in the second half to make it 2-2 as Abdul Salam and Taha Rehman netted one each.
The regulation time ended with the score locked at 2-2. Abdul FC players excelled on the penalty-kicks and finally recorded a 5-4 victory to annex the title.
Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Siddiqui was the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the tournament.
