KARACHI: Vice President of Sindh Football Association (SFA) and South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Syed Khadim Ali Shah has said that the SAFF Women Football Championship should be held in Karachi in order to send a positive message to the world that the biggest city of Pakistan could host international events.
“If we hold the championship in Karachi we could portray a soft image of the city in the world,” Khadim said. “So I request Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Siddiqui to help us in this regard.”
The third edition of the SAFF Women Football Championship has been allotted to Pakistan and is scheduled to run from November 1 to 15. The host city is yet to be finalised.
Apart from Pakistan, teams of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka will be seen in action during the tournament.
