“The semi-finals of the 9th HBL Karachi United Schools Championship will take place on March 15, 2014 with four times winners, Karachi Grammar School (KGS) taking on surprise package, Sensorium School in the first semi-final at 2.30 pm.
In the second semi-final at 4.00 pm, runners-up in the last edition of KUSC and favourites, Nixor (champions in 2011-12) take on Lyceum.
Earlier, in the quarter-finals, KGS beat Generations School 4-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in the stipulated time. Their opponents in the semis i.e. Sensorium demolished Army Public School 6-1 with Sharjeel Tariq and Johar Naqvi scoring hat-tricks. Sensorium had already earlier knocked out defending champions, City School PAF Chapter in the round of 16.
Lyceum upset a strong St. Patricks School team 2-1 courtesy goals by Noman Tahir and Aman Abrar whereas Bruce scored the consolation for St. Pats.
In the best of the quarter-finals, Nixor edged out Southshore 4-2 on penalties after that match had also ended 2-2 in regulation. The goals in normal time were scored by Mehmood A Shah and Mohammad Afridi for Nixor while Hyder Ali and Kubail Abbas for Southshore
The semi-finals and final which will be played at Baluch Mujahid Stadium, Korani will be telecast live on Geo Super”
