Young Azizabad and Jam XI reach NBP Cup quarterfinals
Young Azizabad (DFA Central) and Jam XI (Malir) reached the quarterfinals of the 7th All-Pakistan National Bank Football Cup 2013 being held at Colony Sports Stadium in Malir, Karachi.
Young Azizabad FC beat a strong Shahbaz Mohammedan (Malir) side 2-0 thanks to a brace from lanky forward Ali in each half. Young Azizabad’s Yasir Shah and Aamir Shah also performed well, with Young Azizabad captain M Shabir performing well as goalkeeper.
Jam XI beat Islah Baloch (Old Golimar) 4-2. Two goals each from Amin and Aamir helped Jam XI win the game, with only Kamran and Sarfraz responding for Islah Baloch.
Young Azizabad now face hosts Colony Sports while Jam XI face Baloch Star United (Quetta) in the quarterfinals on Friday, 8 Feb 2013.
